Hi guys!
I was on Israeli juggling convention this month - it was wonderfull! I recommend you to go there.
Also when I wanted to buy ticket, they said that for other country - free enter!

I want to know, for which conventions also free enter for other country?
Or maybe who can give free enter if I will give some good workshops?

It is important question for our russian community, because we need to make Visa, buy expensive tickets to airplane. And Euro is too expensive this year.

I've not heard of any other festival providing free entry for foreigners. That is a fantastic gesture! Given the large number of travelling European festival goers I can't see this policy being adopted anywhere in Europe.

Well maybe if an airline organizes a convention on an island*, they might not charge for convention attendance** ;)

* where swimming or boat access isn't an option.
** whether to do it for foreigners or all is probably also irrelevant.

I was a little confused by this. At EJC last year this was being advertised, but I heard that it wasn't true... it was something on the lines of there might be a reduced price for foreigners. Unfortunately since I heard this on the grape vine I can't verify my sources. As a convention organiser there can be a lot of pressure to make sure that the convention breaks even, and certainly in the UK where venues can be fairly expensive this can be stressful. In the UK conventions are run by volunteers and are not run in order to make a profit (other than to help run the convention the year after) as such typically only the performers would be able to get in for free. You can try to do deals though, for TLC we decided that volunteers could either have free entry or pay the entry fee for a crew convention shirt (as long as they either gave a workshop and/or worked a 4 hour shift). This works for a one day convention, but would certainly not for a multiday one.

If I remember correctly, this is an as close to free convention as you might find (pay what you want): https://www.jugglingedge.com/event.php?EventID=53

In North America, most/many "small" (up to a couple hundred people) are free at the door. RIT Juggle-In, Waterloo, Not Quite Pittsburgh, are three I've been to in the last year that haven't charged.

The shows normally cost some amount of money

"The shows normally cost some amount of money under $20" was what I meant to say. I used a less than sign instead of under, and my text was beamed away.

Chocfest VII was free (due to a complication with the venue that we weren't allowed to charge for admission), but convention goers were strongly encouraged to buy £5 of raffle tickets to cover the costs of running the convention. Sadly not all jugglers took the hint.
