Hi all
Sad news. Aidan’s brother Bernard has just phoned to say that Aidan has only a few days to live.
I went to see him on Tuesday and he was very weak but insisting that he did not wish to go into a hospice. Bernard and his mother, Maureen, are respecting his wish and he will stay at home.
Bernard asked me to pass on the news to the juggling community. I am just emailing those few people for whom I have email addresses; would you please let Aidan’s many friends around the world know.
Anyone is welcome to contact me for more information if they wish.
Tudor
No less a blow for it being little surprise.
If you're reading, Aidan/Bernard, you're on the front page of JTV right now.
Thanks for everything, mate.

Might be nice if the featured text included a link to https://www.juggle.me.uk/passing/ for anyone interested by the video - it's Aidan's newer site.
Very sad news. Best wishes to you & your family Aidan, I hope your stay at home is as peaceful as possible.

A huge shame - Aidan's influence (both direct and indirect) on my local juggling club's juggling is larger than ever.
I wish the best for you and your family, Aidan.
Aidan has been an inspirational club passer and is great person to meet at juggling conventions. I will miss him not being at Durham this weekend making me late for the show.
Aidan passed away a few minutes before 9:00pm this evening, Thursday October 9th.
Usually I pour a glass of wine of an evening. Tonight I have opened a bottle of beer. Aidan would always have chosen beer.
He declined very suddenly this afternoon, struggling greatly with his breathing. He had lots of his close family with him at the end; his Mother was holding his hand.
If you have not kept track of him over the past year, he kept a blog from the time he first fell ill. You can read it here
https://eamonblunt.wordpress.com/2013/12/16/my-first-street-shows/
I choose this page in his blog to link to as he performed these street shows with me last December. He was already very ill at this time but it was a good, happy occasion.
I am sure all of you who knew him will have your own happy memories of a very special man.
I will pass all messages or replies I receive onto his brother Bernard to share with the family.
I shall be posting this to several different lists and pages tonight, apologies if you see it more than once.
So, put on some prog' rock, go find a Sudoku to do and raise a glass of beer - just make sure it's a real ale!
And next time you throw a club at someone, throw it for Aidan!

I am very sorry to hear this... Though we've met at conventions, I did not know Aidan very well personally, but really enjoyed the geeky passing ideas that he brought!
My condoleances to his family, and my clubs will be passed for Aidan...

Such terrible news. I knew of Aidan originally from rec.juggling, but met him for the first time at EJC in Munich in 2011. We got to know each other a bit more over the past few years as he worked for me writing a column for eJuggle. I was thrilled that he made it to EJC this year and, even though we didn't club pass, we talked a bit and I did play some games with him. I'm really glad that me made it to EJC (and his blog reflected how it helped him). His family should know of the impact he had, and that people here in Israel (and certainly even from further away) were concerned for him over this last year.
Very sad to hear this. Thanks for letting us know.
Do take the time to read through Aidan's blog if you haven't already. It's difficult to read at times but is very well written & takes on an important subject that more should know about.
After Luke's death 2 years ago I finally plucked up the courage to go to the doctors about a lump I have on my neck. I had a number of blood tests & a scan & fortunately my lump is just a benign lipoma, but waiting for someone you know to die before getting checked out is a really stupid thing to do. Just in case anyone else is in the same position.

Pretty much what everyone else said.
I raised a pint of Youngs Bitter to him at lunchtime today, a tipple I think he'd have approved of.

Really sorry to hear this. Not met Aidan but enjoyed reading his posts at rec.juggling and I've been following his blog. A lovely interesting man.

fak,
I don't know how to message you directly. I'd like to have a formal obituary written for eJuggle (where he wrote 14 articles over the last 3 years: http://ezine.juggle.org/author/aidanjburnsyahoo-com/). If you or someone you know is suitable for this, please send to me at scott with juggler.net as the suffix. Please include photos, too. I'm going to be away for a few days, but would like to publish it as soon as I get back.

The obituary from James was published yesterday, for those who havn't seen it yet:

Thanks Hapiel for posting, and James for writing.
At #Altern8 on Monday, I had an extra cup of tea, and fak, Ian and I passed a 3-count + PPS vs Ultimates. It's not often I pass, I should do so a little more often.
There are now some details of Aidan's funeral followed by juggling and refreshments for everyone who knew Aidan to celebrate his life.
