A method for making crochet juggling balls out of old plastic carrier bags has just popped up on rec.juggling and it's an interesting idea!

Details here: https://thehoophub.co.uk/how-to-make-a-crochet-juggling-ball-from-plastic-bags-recycloballs/

It's been about 20 years since I last attempted to crochet anything, and I don't really need a new project at the moment (and to be honest, don't juggle enough these days to actually get around to using them if I did make a set) but I thought I'd pass the link on. Would be interesting to use the same technique with other materials as well.

That's pretty neat but at 1.5 hours per ball I can't help but think the effort could be better spent on making a traditional bean bag. Aside from enjoying the act of making them I can't think of any advantages of a crocheted ball over a bean bag.

I also enjoyed this video found on that site:

I might have to give this a try - crochet seems to be my current obsession (Yes, I know, I'm ashamed to admit that my juggling has fallen off a bit - but that is mainly because circumstances over the last month or two haven't allowed me to attend #dabhands - it's just been crap lately, I am hoping to get back there next week)
