BJC Ticket for sale

Who would like to buy a ticket to this year's wonderful BJC? Circumstances dictate that I have one to sell. Any takers? Know anyone who is after a ticket to BJC but didn't pre-reg in time and can't afford to pay on the door?
Get in touch here or with me directly.
Priority will be given with anyone who accompanies their offer with a good joke.

When you say a "good" joke.....

^Tom_ - - Parent

Well, I /like/ raffles... so I'm obviously not too picky.

A raffle joke:

Kenny, moved to the country and bought a donkey from an old farmer for $100. The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey the next day.

The next day the farmer drove up and said: "Sorry son, but I have some bad news. The donkey died."

Kenny replied, "Well then, just give me my money back."

The farmer said, "Can't do that. I went and spent it already."

Kenny said, "OK, then just unload the donkey."

The farmer asked, "What you going to do with it?"

Kenny: "I'm going to raffle him off."

Farmer: "You can't raffle off a dead donkey!"

Kenny: "Sure I can. Watch me. I just won't tell anybody it is dead."

A month later the farmer met up with Kenny and asked, "What happened with that dead donkey?"

Kenny: "I raffled it off. I sold 500 tickets at $2 a piece and made a profit of $998.00."

Farmer: "Didn't anyone complain?"

Kenny: "Just the guy who won. So I gave him his $2 back."

I'll have it. I'll see if I have your email address handy. If not, one of mine's on tlmb.net/void

So, due to a TON of requests from my audiences, I've decided to buy a set of juggling knives. Just trying to find the right ones. Does Dube not make theirs anymore? I've also had my eye on these:

https://www.amazon.com/Juggle-Dream-Juggling-Knives/dp/B00A4LP3AW/ref=sr_1_1/178-7821407-3925324?ie=UTF8&qid=1424838091&sr=8-1&keywords=juggling+knives

Anyone know anything about the quality?

ejwysz - - Parent

Also... just an idea... but what if we had a section on here where our members could buy and sell new and used juggling props? What do you think, Orinoco?

ejwysz - - Parent

Just a separate forum, really. P2P style.

peterbone - - Parent

Why not use ebay and then just post the link here? It handles payement for you. Also, I can't think of many reasons why people would want to sell their juggling props.

Orinoco - - Parent

I agree, props don't get sold often, most are used to destruction, those that aren't are usually kept in the loft, or in rare cases given away or sold at conventions. A separate forum (?) or a classified ads section would get very little traffic here, buying & selling stuff needs volume which means Facebook (when were getting rid of a load of TWJC kit most of the sales were organised through there). There is a UK based Facebook group for buying/selling/swapping circus kit that gets a fair bit of activity. I'd be surprised if there isn't already a US equivalent somewhere.

If you have stuff to offer, by all means just post a message here with a #forsale tag, this place will show up in search results, Facebook generally doesn't.

Not restricted to the Americas, but most of the ads are in those regions: https://www.facebook.com/groups/371919866168504/?fref=ts

ejwysz - - Parent

Yeah, you're right... Once I thought about it, I wouldn't want to sell any of my props either. Unless I made them specifically to be sold.

Dubé are currently having trouble, as far as I know they are manufacturing/shipping from a warehouse 3-4 days a week & operating the office from Brian's home 1-2 days a week.

Never been into knives or fire or anything like that so can't really help you there.

vegetables? I see only one vegetable, a fruit and a salad leaf (or does it count as a herb?)

Orinoco - - Parent

Pak choi is definitely a vegetable as it is part of the cabbage family.

But I'll give you cucumber (snigger).

Little Paul - - Parent

Hmm... yes I suppose it probably is a brassica- ok. I'll take that one back ;)

Orinoco - - Parent

Indeed, Brassica Chinensis

#TWJC will be moving venue in the near future which means we need to get rid of a lot of kit. I spent pretty much all of last night's meeting cataloging what we need to get rid of. Ooer. Hats.

That is a heck of a lot of stuff. Good luck getting rid of it, and with the move. :)

peterbone - - Parent

What kind of condition is the walking globe in? I'd like it for the Sussex Uni Circus Society. I'm not sure how much you want for it. I'll offer £20 to start and I'll come and collect it myself.

Orinoco - - Parent

The walking globe is in very good condition, & is of course available on a try before you buy basis. We've had an amazing response so far & it's going to take us a few days to go through all the messages & try & work out ho we can please the most people. You are certainly first in the queue for the globe & if you can collect you are very likely to get it!

Our last night in the Camden Centre will be Tuesday the 29th of May, which if all accounts are true will have an attendance to rival a typical one-dayer which will be interesting if nothing else. It would be great if you could make it then (there will be cake I'm told).

Dave Cheetham - - Parent

> there will be cake I'm told

I'm having a hard time believing it.  I've been mislead about cake before.

Cedric Lackpot - - Parent

The cake is a lie!

peterbone - - Parent

Great, thanks. If you don't think £20 is enough then I can go up a bit. If it gives me any further advantage, the globe will be for our juggling club so it will please a lot of people, not just me. I hope I can make it on the 29th but there's a chance I'll have to pick someone up from the airport that evening so I may come an earlier week.

Orinoco - - Parent

Your negotiating technique is rubbish! We'll stick with £20 (hmm, so's mine), I just got off the phone to Kev & we both agreed we would like you to have it because we know it will get well used at your club so it is yours if you still want it. The other advantage you have is that I will still be able to visit it :)

I took some photos of the bigger stuff on my flying visit to TW today, they're not great because the hall was in use & I had limited space in the corridor but: https://my.opera.com/orinoco/albums/show.dml?id=11745292

peterbone - - Parent

Great thanks. The club will be very happy as they've wanted one for a while but couldn't afford it.

Little Paul - - Parent

Cake?!!?!!

*looks at google maps in an attempt to work out how much effort it would be to traipse over from Bungay for the evening*

Hmm.

I think local cake might have to be had instead ;-)

oxford - - Parent

I may well be interested in a bunch of clubs and thuds for a couple of oxford clubs. We're in a transitional period though, how long til all this stuff needs to go?

Orinoco - - Parent

As just mentioned above our last night will be the 29th of May when we will be having a lot of vultures people visiting to pick up kit by the sounds of things. Although we will have use of our storage room for a week or so afterwards so we can hold stuff back if necessary.

oxford - - Parent

Ah that's a shame, unlikely I'd be able to get down before mid June. Good luck getting rid of everything!
