Day 3 of trying to practice using the same method Anthony Gatto did. See my forum post for details of what this involves and my rationale for wanting to do it:
Was in the church in Cambridge. Marginally less cold than being outside and a lot less windy, however my orange balls are not the best colour for juggling in the church- sometimes hard to pick out against the background. I was feeling fairly tired and unmotivated most of the day, and got a bit moody with Heydar during our ring passing practice in the morning- sorry :(
I left a timer running constantly this time rather than setting it for 2 minutes, then resetting to 3 and so on, I think this is a lot better. I paused it when I went to get a drink, which I did a few times. Not sure if I’m getting more disciplined at taking breaks or if I was just looking for excuses to slack off
Warm up: Did all the moving about with a balance stuff, all three balance points.
Mills warm up was good, and then 5 ball mills went very well. I threw 11 bunches of 3 throws, so I probably caught 30 ish, definitely a very good run, if not my record.
Pirouettes were good, my 3 ups with 5 felt nice out of both hands. Unfortunately this didn’t translate to my 5 ups being good and I only got 1 in the allocated thime.
5 ball siteswaps:
10 rounds of 744 back to pattern and then 20ish rounds to drop.
10 rounds of 645 back to
663 (not 633 as previous logs have said!) was ok I think, it just never feels particularly nice, always a bit of looking up at the 6s then down at the three.
94444 felt good, got 2 rounds starting out of each hand.
97531 same, 2 rounds starting out of each hand.
(8x,4)(4,4) was good, got 4 rounds back to pattern. This is definitely improving, although I had never really worked on it much before this.
753 got 10 rounds back to pattern.
Got some ok runs of both 6 ball async and 50 of sync in my allocated 2 minutes of each. Did a few kick ups to async and few transitions between sync and async.
Got 8 ish rounds of 771 back to pattern in my allocated minute (66 entry 661 exit)
I got a good run of 7, I think 40 catches?
5 ball half shower with backcross. Landed it a few times not really coming over my shoulder, I’m always reaching back for them
6 ball half shower. Lethargy had me full in its grasp by now, don’t think it went well.
Total practice time: 60 minutes
