New feature: bookmarking posts!
It has come to light that having a very old post marked as unread can cause performance issues (Although it turns out I did predict this!). I've made a few optimisations that should alleviate this problem & make the site a bit nippier in general, but to really avoid the problem you now have the option to save important posts without having them hang around as unread.
Each post now has a "Bookmark" link at the bottom, clicking this saves the link & returns you back to that post. You can then access your favourite posts on your profile.

Thanks Jon.
Should it be possible to bookmark multiple posts in one thread? At present only one bookmark per thread seems to be saved, which could be a problem if, say, some awkward sod wanted to bookmark two posts in one long thread.
It should be possible yes, I've just bookmarked both posts in this thread successfully.
Which two posts are you trying to bookmark?

These two:

Only the first one seems to be bookmarked.

Perfect, thanks.
In a bizarre display of human psychology, this feature has caused me to go through all the unread posts I have (all videos I was saving to watch later) and decide whether to bookmark them or mark them as read. I marked nearly all of them as read, with a splendid accompanying feeling of tidying success. Why couldn't I have done that in the first place? Who knows.
As far as I'm aware I'm a human. I'm not sure I have all the evidence required to support this hypothesis, but it seems easier to believe it than otherwise.
