Upright antipodism! [vid]
Here is Zdeněk Polach at 14th Cirque de Demain in 1991:

He won a silver medal.
Zdeněk is Czechoslovakian. From what I could find online, he now performs a comedy magic/pickpocket act as Zee Deneck.
There is another Zdenek Polach clip online, but it's a 19-year-old juggling large balls this year - his son perhaps?
This is the only act I have ever seen juggling in this way - ie. foot-juggling cylinders in a standing position. Does anyone know of anybody else doing anything similar, or am I right in thinking he is unique in the world?

Is Polach using a 3" diameter aluminum tube? How is that prop constructed?

I would have thought it more likely to be fibreglass than aluminium, as aluminium would dent far too easily.
It's a good point though, I don't know how antipodism props are actually constructed.

A friend of mine uses cardboard rolls. They come in all kinds of practical sizes and are stronger than I had expected. I don't know if she modifies the weight, but it is of course covered with cloth/shitload of tape.
