Well I'm a bit bloody excited about this!
I think I may have stumbled across some unknown footage of Trixie La Rue. Assuming that Scott Cain's excellent eJuggle article on Trixie (http://ezine.juggle.org/2015/02/13/trixie-a-juggling-legend-spinning-through-history/) contains all the known footage, then this is new.
...better still, it's in colour ! ..and the icing on the cake: it includes top hat juggling, which I've not seen in any other clip of her

For those who are interested in the provenance, the footage is from home movies by The Maxwells, an Australian comedy acrobatic duo who performed in the Ice Capades with Trixie. The Maxwells were a top specialty act in the U.S, even topping the bill at Radio City Music Hall at one point.
Around 20 years ago an old acrobat friend of mine, Ross Davies, who had known the Maxwells in his youth, was given their home movie footage on video, which he passed on to me. So I've had it sitting in my collection for nearly two decades without realizing it contained this little gem.
It's possible this is already out there - the video may have been given to others as well as to my friend. I'm kind of hoping that someone else has it, because as you can see, my copy is not brilliant quality.
(BTW, how about that run of backflips at the end ... on skates!)
That is new footage. Excellent stuff. My brother's article did not, however, contain all of the known Trixie footage. We have five other films of Trixie performing that we're not permitted to put online at the present time.

Oooh, how intriguing! Is any of it in color?
I found a tiny bit of her in color today on a compilation of Ice Capades publicity footage on YT, so the Ice Capades must have had color footage of her.
WARNING: There is literally only 6 seconds worth of Trixie (a false start to the double head bounce), so this is for hard-core Trixie fans only... There is nothing else of interest in this 10 minute video - I know, because I watched the whole thing. :(

No, none of it is in color, but some of it is quite good video, most of her in her ice skating days.

The backflips are amazing!
It's also nice to see the skipping rope headbounce trick, we were chatting about that trick earlier today trying to remember who did it, someone said it was the sort of trick Trixie would have done, and I said "yes, and she'd have done it on ice"

Did you remember many others? My favourite is Victor Ponce, because he does the 'little skip' around the bouncing ball before he does the full skip.

I sent the link to the Trixie video to her daughters. They loved it, but they also wanted to see a version slowed down to normal speed. I hope you don't mind, but I downloaded your video and corrected the speed and put it online for Trixie's family. Please let me know if this is a problem. Thanks.
