JuggLINCOLNvention 2014
Got back last night from #juggLINCOLNvention2014 - which we enjoyed immensely. The venue is a beautiful farm in the middle of nowhere, with gardens, woodland, lovely old buildings, fields for camping with homebuilt showers & toilets, views, ducks, geese, animals...I could go on, but it's really quite special. There's also various indoor space including a barn with a bar, leather sofas and indoor stage and a variety of woodland shelters, an outdoor stage and a 'fairy house' for the kids! Ours spent so much time exploring the site, climbing over things, collecting beetles etc. that we had a real chance to relax. The on-site cafe (actually it's more of a proper restaurant) served some very tasty and high quality food and I believe there was a burger van open at some point as well. There was a great range of workshops especially at beginner level and some different ones as well including a well-attended Fimo modelling workshop - our kids are very proud of their magic wands and dragons. The show was on the outdoor stage and of a particularly high quality, including a very solid acro act and some very innovative contact-ball-and-cigar-boxes stuff, all compered at high energy by Stumpy. Later there was a fire to sit round, a fire/glow area to play in and a slightly drunken renegade. The only negative point I can think of is the lack of segregated camping, so we got woken by some late to bed types (and our kids probably woke them up too early) - not hard to fix. There were around 130 people there I think, around twice how many came the first year. I highly recommend the event and thanks to all the organisers, you did a fantastic job!
