on the organisations page there are a bunch of links.
is there a definition of organisation, as to my mind out of the links only 3 are organisations, the rest are events.
Those "convention organisations" are there so that individual events can be grouped together.
e.g. "Bungay Balls Up 2012" *event* is part of the "Bungay Balls Up" *organisation*, which will have all of the BBU individual events under its umbrella.
I think the definition of "organisation" will vary a lot in this sense. An organisation could be "an ongoing convention", "a group that promotes juggling", etc etc.
Yeah that ^
At present there are only a couple of bits of functionality attached to organisations:
If someone marks themselves as an attendee or whatever of an event, the user is connected to that event's organisation. So next year when that organisation creates another event (& assigns it to the organisation) the user will receive a notification of the new event.
& less importantly to provide context to some hashtags. If you view threads tagged #IJA for example there is a link to the info page so the user can see what everyone is on about.
As mentioned elsewhere I'm also thinking about providing organisation specific event feeds.
so does that mean every club or every convention that has regular meetings could be an organisation?
