# 3-5 clubs, 3-7 balls, 3-6 rings, 210 minutes

Nice relaxed first juggle of the new year. Juggling interspersed with significant periods of standing around chatting.

Nothing very impressive juggling-wise. Need to get working on my goals and carry on pushing for improvement.

My 4 club scissors were feeling pretty solid. No long runs recorded but short runs were feeling consistent. Also 3c backcrosses with a balance feeling good again but wasn't counting the length of runs. Other than that didn't really get anything new or special.

Total practice time: 210 minutes

# 3-5 clubs, balance, 120 minutes

Exclusively clubs. Not very often I practice clubs so much but enjoying improving them for the first time in a while.

Was working mainly on the single tricks I can do from 5c cascade. Landed all of the following to qualify plus clean collect: 645, 744, 663, 66661, triples flash, single bxx, single flat.

Think I will make this my warm up with 5 going forward, adding tricks or extending these to short runs as I improve.

# 3-5 clubs, balance, 3-7 balls, 70 minutes

Excellent little juggle in what was glorious weather for hk in December. Almost exclusively clubs apart from 5 minutes when I had an audience and thought I better do something other than drilling 5 clubs!

3c bxx plus balance was the highlight. Felt natural and "easy" for the first time ever. Broke my old record several times in the space of 6 or 7 runs. Bests of 78 and 82 plus a run of c50 isolated.

Did a fair bit of 5 club endurance. Consistently getting 160-200c but struggle to go further. I think a mixture of bad form, low pattern and lack of strength. Need to get back to the gym.

Will probably juggle some more later as loving the chance to train without work getting in the way. Would have carried on now but for lunch with my brother.

# 3-7 balls, 3-5 clubs, balance, 150 minutes

First day of juggling in a week owing to illness and then jetlag.

Was really nice to get to juggle outside in the warmth today though. Winters suck for juggling. Just need to get over my reluctance to practice anything I can't already do in public places though.

Was focusing mainly on clubs today. 5 clubs was feeling good. Spent a while practicing 5c bxx. Single throws to and from cascade getting seem to be getting more solid. Got a couple of 2 connected back to pattern.

Highlights: sunshine, 200+ catches of 5 clubs first try, 5c triples feeling good, 5c bxx improving, lots of applause from passers by!

Lowlights: 7 balls decidedly dodgy today, too many passers by!

# 3-7 balls, 3-5 clubs, balance, 170 minutes

Wasn't going to go as feeling super tired but dragged myself out of the house and not too terrible a session considering. Focus on general club stuff and 5b backcrosses.

Highlights - 38c of 3club bxx with chin balance, 5b bxx feeling increasingly comfortable (best of 17 catches from 18 throws today) and very nearly getting 3 throws of 5club bxx back to pattern right at the end.

Lowlights - tiredness, not beating 5b bxx record, not getting 5c bxx back to pattern clean.

# Workshops, 180 minutes

No actual practice, but did go help out with some Camcircus workshops at the a Christmas fair in Cambridge. Did a little bit of teaching, a bit of showing off and a lot of standing around talking, eating nice food and drinking mulled wine. Was playing with flower/devil sticks a bit there and, as I always do at these kind of things, think I should practice that as it's quite fun. Doubt I actually will though.

Went to watch the live stream of the Fight Night combat European Masters finals after and cheer on Cambridge's finest before letting my competitive side get the better of me and attempting to beat the records in Brook's living room juggling/other challenges. Succeeded in about half before giving up in favour of beer (couldn't have beaten the remaining ones anyway).

# 3-5 balls, headbounce, 90 minutes

General low number ball stuff inc. 3b reverse back crosses, 4b shoulders, back of the hand box (checking I actually could juggle it following Emily's post in small talk), 5b bxx and head bounce with juggle.

Highlights: 42c 4b shoulders, 12 catches of 3+hb (one of my goals for the year), 6c of 4+hb and 17c of continuous rh 5b bxx throws.

Lowlights: inability to juggle 4b half contortion, low ceiling :(

More low ceiling stuff. Few more attempts at 4b half contortion, flash is solid, beyond that much less so. Also 4b shoulders feeling good and almost runnable for a decent length of time. Trying to improve my 3b reverse bxx but struggling to get beyond 8-10 catches.

Continuing to work on Alberts with clubs. Nice run of 20 continuous right hand throws but my pesky left hand continues to fail me. Had a Few successful attempts at single Alberts with a chin balance balance in a couple of runs too.

5 minutes spent on 4 clubs, mainly low flats and scissors in singles.

Trying to focus primarily on things I can't already do (well).

With clubs I was doing some more work on alberts. 1 club continuous is getting solid but I'm struggling to join 2 with any consistency. Feels a long long way off. Also trying 3 clubs overheads and 4 club scissors on singles but ceiling felt a little too low for both.

With balls - 5b oh, 4b half contortion and 5b shower kneeling were the order of the day.

Finished with head bounce endurance runs. 3 runs in row over 100 bounces which is alright given I don't have a round hb ball currently. Seriously need to get a replacement. Heydar, go buy me stuff please....

Right, time to get good at juggling.

Following my fairly dire performance in the inaugural Cambridge entirely unofficial WJF intermediates competition (which, while pretty unsuited to my style of juggling, was rather fun to practice for and compete in), I'm feeling motivated to start improving.

So it must be time to start logging again.

My 6 and 7 balls have gone downhill recently so I did some practice kneeling and was getting some decent runs.

After that was working on 3 club tricks - alerts and chest rolls primarily - and on 5 ball overheads. I've never got to grips with 5b oh before but I'd like to get it solid. Best run of 25 clean today so there's a long way to go...

Also, a bit of club balance because my practises have to include a bit of club balance.
