# Numbers, Catching up, 100 minutes

Duration is an estimate. Took me forever to find a place to juggle today, all of the normal places were locked.

Had fun spending ~25 minutes on 9b. I think it's amazing how many small issues I had with the flash that I didn't notice until I spent more than 5 minutes on it (i.e. today). I think I've fixed my left hand's grip. Width of pattern is pretty consistent, working on consistent heights and not breaking plane horribly.

Recorded a broken-plane box pattern I thought would look beautiful, turns out it's ugly. I'll blame it on angle and execution for now.

# Catching up, Numbers, 80 minutes

After ~2 months, I finally had a real practice again! Woo!

Juggling at club kept me relatively fresh, but I haven't made much progress. Tried some numbers today (hadn't given 5+ balls more than a few minutes in ages) and it felt pretty good. #7b was decent, pretty clean, but a fair few random drops. Almost flashed #9b a few times.

# passing, passing siteswaps, numbers, 150 minutes

Lets do some logs again.

Went for a passing session with Cameron. Got some good runs of things that I think were his best - clean(ish) flash of 11 clubs, 10+ rounds of 945, and some ok runs of holy grail.

Highlights at my end:
Ticked off two patterns - a8494, and 7296b. Very pleased about nice runs of 7296b, as I'm using it as warm up for 789ab, which we had a go at, and I managed to throw just over 2 sides of it - felt runnable at my end.
Good numbers runs. I got a good run of 10 club 2-count versus 8 club 2-count - about 25 passes made. Really feels like I could get long runs of 10 clubs on a good day with someone else who can do it. Also tried 4-count - got some nice runs, didn't spend too long.
Then did 9 club 2-count versus 11 club 2-count. On triples, made 15 passes. On doubles, some not too bad runs, required a bit more calibration.

We very nearly qualifed 10 in triples on Weds, so I should try 12 versus 10 sometime!

We also had 'aspirational' attempts at a97 and 9ab. Neither felt out of the park crazy, potentially 9ab felt more plausible. Certainly didn't feel much harder, but that might not hold for longer runs.

Edit: Actually turns out I'd already ticket off 7296a with James. At least I still got Cameron on the sheet with a symmetric pattern! It's a really nice pattern though.

# numbers, club passing, 90 minutes

Outside session at Romford.

Worked up to and pushed for 6 balls in one hand. One very close attempt (got the first 5, 6th bounced out). Spacing and timing generally much better now, feels physically easier too. Landed c0404040 warming up and got close to e040404040 and a060 too.

Some decent attempts at 8 sync, need to keep my elbows a bit forward, especially for the launch. At least 14 catches, maybe qualified. Little balls letting me down a bit. Had a couple of goes at 12 catches of 10. Not impossible, but far from the top of my list.

A few goes at 9 to finish. Really nice pattern- found following through with the first 2 throws helps. Struggled with the 2nd catch several times- maybe should be higher. Caught the rest fine.

Bit of club passing at the end. Must do some 3 person stuff next week.

# Numbers, 40 minutes

Funny that it's taken me this long before having a whole practise session dedicated to numbers! I decided to work on 7b today, 5b drills were going well, and 7b felt more under control than usual. Broke 100 catches for the third time, and this was the first time that it felt fairly easy doing so.

Optimistic about 7b!

# 3 clubs, 4 clubs, 5 clubs, numbers, 90 minutes

First time at the Romford club in advance of Romvention on Saturday. Blasted through pretty much all the high throw (can't do in my house) club stuff I'm working on.

3 club 2 stage 720 into flats happened in about 3 or 4 goes. The angle of the high throw is getting better every time I practice.

I seem to overspin my first right hand throw after most of my 4 club tricks (7531, 360s etc) need to fix that. Might be a timing issue- shouldn't need to throw that one straight away, so need to take my time.

5 clubs wasn't going great, but managed to force it a bit and got very close to getting 753. The 7 was usually low though (and a half out, probably under) so I was trying to reenter the pattern on one knee, which didn't tend to work out well. Need to throw the 7 higher and check if it's a triple or quad later.

First attempt at triples was ok, the rest were crap again.

Singles were awesome though- felt like I had the spin and the height right and could run it. Needed to shuffle rightwards due to throw asymmetry but definitely much better than usual. Beat my record after around 5-8 goes, then called it a day.

Finished with a couple of attempts at 6 (balls) in one hand. Not very close today.

# 3 clubs, 4 clubs, 5 clubs, numbers, 150 minutes

Tried to have a serious club practice but found it a bit hard to see so struggled. Singles bxx was ok- focused on having enough forward motion to bring the clubs in front of me, which worked well. Also, got a nice 2 stage 720- definitely improving there. Everything else felt kind of broken, so I just had a go at some 6 in one hand and 8 ball asynch with my small balls.

# 5 balls, 6 balls, 7 balls, numbers, 150 minutes

Lots of standard spinny stuff with 5 balls, ranging from not good to ok.

1 up 4 up multiplex into (6x,4)* finally clicked though, and I could just do it. Felt easier than going back into cascade in a way, because the synch catches stops me needing to reach up on my right to get the second ball...

First proper session with my new balls outside on 6 and 7. Slow to start, then went generally well. Didn't spend too long on anything in particular. Synch-asynch transitions felt harder than usual, but general asynch fountain was working reasonably well. Got a b97531 and a 4 up asynch, and landed a 4 up multiplex start, which I just realised I can connect more easily than the 5 ball version as the next throw is left handed for me :) Also, very close to 1 high, 3 low 360.

7 felt awesome, especially at first. Got some good, controlled-feeling runs before I paused my music and started counting catches. As soon as I did that the pattern inevitably got worse, but counted a 60-something catch run, which I felt was pretty good considering I haven't worked on 7 in a couple of months...

Started getting tired and my right-hand throws started getting lower, so I had a couple of half-decent attempts at 966 then left it.

Numbers generally bad. Spent most time on trying and failing to flash 9, but by this time I was feeling a bit wiped out and my right shoulder was hurting a bit so I just had a few goes at flashing 6 in my left hand. A few really good attempts- caught 4 a couple of times, and the catches were all possible. Soon...

# numbers, 80 minutes

Numbers balls. Warmed up with 5,6,7 then worked on 8,9,10 and 6 in one hand. Finished with a couple of attempts at flashing 7 ball shower with numbers balls. Wasn't close, but felt good.

8 worked pretty well, synch and asynch. 16 throws once in asynch and a few times in synch. Must keep my hands down...

9 not good. Was better when I focused on making my right hand throws more sideways and powerful, but didn't manage to flash it. First time that's happened in a while.

10 felt good. One very close attempt. Not throwing too high anymore and it feels much more relaxed. Attempted asynch for a few goes at the end. Long way off from that- too wide and my hand speed seems way too slow.

Improvement to 6 in one hand- caught 3 or 4 but made contact with all of the balls.

# numbers, 90 minutes

Numbers session while the car was serviced. Generally ok to good, flashed 10 sync again which was a pleasant surprise given the lack of practice. Much tidier this time too.

8 async felt ok. Some clean 12 runs and a 14. Need to keep the throws narrow though, and concentrate on keeping them in the right plane.

Flashed 9 quickly, but struggled after that. Maybe a little higher next time...

Worked on new grip for 5 in one hand (none on top) to prepare for 10 async, 6 in one hand and 11. Went well- several flashes in either hand. Didn't push for anything longer. Need to relax a little- don't need to grip too tightly or launch too high. I've got the timing about right now.

Several plausible attempts at 6 in one hand too. Got them all out- a couple of nice launches, just need to tighten up control of the direction and start thinking about the timing. Should make the catches less panicked.
