# IndyPrep, Performance Prep, 50 minutes

First ~30 minutes were thinking about my RIT performance. Decided on a song that fit the theme (Spaceship Superstar), choreographed the first 20 seconds and have an idea for the last 40. Middle of the song is pretty neutral, it doesn't shout anything particular to me.

So that I don't forget, the first 20 seconds are walking around while keeping the pattern stationary.

Collision patterns were fun. Sufficiently proved a concept where every ball collides which resembles a cascade.

# IndyPrep, 50 minutes

Spent the first ~30 minutes juggling to music, trying to find something I liked for indyprop. The responses to the recent thread I made furthered my suspicion that I'm going about this in an inefficient way. There are too many patterns that I really like that won't be useful in an act. I have a few favourites that I intend to shoehorn in, but I'll have to keep my "I need to show this pattern" list very short.

After that, I was feeling unmotivated to practice the patterns that I enjoy. I'm going to need to sort something out for tomorrow.

Recorded a Medayaki (David's Dilemna) sequence that I think is cool. I'll post that on instagram next Friday. Posted a "spot the difference" puzzle, and thus far (Saturday morning post) it hasn't gotten a strong response. I'll probably avoid those for a while, then. Let's try embedding it!

<blockquote class="instagram-media" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-version="7" style=" background:#FFF; border: 0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow: 0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; padding: 0; width: 99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);"><div style="padding:8px;"> <div style=" background:#F8F8F8; line-height: 0; margin-top:40px; padding: 50.0% 0; text-align:center; width: 100%;"> <div style=" background:url(data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAACwAAAAsCAMAAAApWqozAAAABGdBTUEAALGPC/xhBQAAAAFzUkdCAK7OHOkAAAAMUExURczMzPf399fX1+bm5mzY9AMAAADiSURBVDjLvZXbEsMgCES5/P8/t9FuRVCRmU73JWlzosgSIIZURCjo/ad+EQJJB4Hv8BFt+IDpQoCx1wjOSBFhh2XssxEIYn3ulI/6MNReE07UIWJEv8UEOWDS88LY97kqyTliJKKtuYBbruAyVh5wOHiXmpi5we58Ek028czwyuQdLKPG1Bkb4NnM+VeAnfHqn1k4+GPT6uGQcvu2h2OVuIf/gWUFyy8OWEpdyZSa3aVCqpVoVvzZZ2VTnn2wU8qzVjDDetO90GSy9mVLqtgYSy231MxrY6I2gGqjrTY0L8fxCxfCBbhWrsYYAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC); display:block; height:44px; margin: 0 auto -44px; position:relative; top:-22px; width:44px;"></div></div>

padding: 0 4px;"> Can you find the difference between the two steady-state patterns? Transitions in were made needlessly complicated to keep the answer from being too easy

About 40 minutes' worth of good practice spread over 4 hours at juggling club. t2xIB was feeling good, and in general I enjoyed practicing some of my less fatiguing patterns. I think I'll try to explore the 423 variation that I came up with a couple years ago, where it really moves in two stages:
1 - The 4s are thrown only vertically, and caught at their peaks
2 - The 4s are dropped only vertically, and caught in a neutral position

Thus, after 8 catches, you're back in a neutral position. I really need to record it. It's kind of fun to do, but it gets a great reaction from club members, so I've got to see what all the hype is about!

RBt are coming along.

Still a bit sore from #UABt two days ago. Going to have to pace practicing that one. Also didn't want to push anything too fast today.

#t2xIB was feeling good today, too. Beginning to fall into place and having fewer random drops. Reverse backcrosses (going to change my previous hashtag to #RBt) felt comfortable for the first time ever.

Also did some exploring, looking for simple, visual tricks, inspired by Pete. Had a friend with me who was useful to bounce ideas off of. Frontcross -> frontcross -> headstall was determined to be too goofy/monkey-looking. She liked flashes of frontcrosses -> shoulder throws (old school!), so I'll keep that I guess.

#Collision patterns were the best they'd ever been. Got 4 penguin catches in the full version of the penguin collision pattern I'd been working on a few times! Happy happy. The vanilla one was running for more than a couple seconds too, so that's great.

A bit of serious practice at juggling club. #t2xIB was feeling the best it ever had been. A bit sore from #UABt yesterday.

Starting to focus on trying to relax through the movements of #HLAIB. It's not easily done.

Really good session. Mostly focused on boxes, and got a flash several times of underarmpit backcrosses (let's call that...#UABt)

Recorded HLIB with both (2x,2x) versions (top 2x being on same and opposite side at the 6) for a "spot the differences" Instagram post. If you're reading this, no spoiling the answer!

Also came up with a nice David's Dilemma (Medayaki) sequence that I'll record when I get it cleaner. I think it's charming.

More collision training and all the typical boxes HLAIB (almost 20 catches!), HLCIB, t2xIB (finally starting to like this pattern after tons of frustration).

Starting to wonder where my limit's going to be with collision patterns. Still making lots of progress and enjoying them. More hokey hockey tricks this evening to look forward to.
