# 7 balls, 4 clubs, 75 minutes

Warm up with 5b. Trained 7b cascade until I hurt the tip of my right index finger. Then I juggled 4 clubs in the breeze. 633 with 4c is really going well.

I juggle in a large open field. The sun sets in the west, so I juggle facing east for maximum visibility. There is a bathroom east of the field. When I juggle, I can see the bathroom.

In the past few weeks I have seen two drug sales at that bathroom.

This evening, I saw something more disturbing:

A disheveled man walked to the bathroom carrying a large box of donuts. At 46 years old, 183cm and 114kg he looked moderately diabetic. He loitered at the bathroom (typical behavior for a drug transaction). A few minutes later an 11 to 13 year old girl walked up to the bathroom. She had started to open the door when the man engaged her in conversation.

While they talked she stood still with her hand on the door handle. He walked from her right to her left, coming within arms length.

Rant: The bathrooms are always destroyed too!

Ran 7b. cascade for 100 catches (clean finish) twice. Feels really solid, easier without terrible seasonal allergies.

While training 5b overheads, I was hit in the eye with a ball. My eye hurt and watered a lot. I had to stop juggling for several minutes. It was pretty frustrating, but I did some jumprope and then moved on to 7b.

Ran 7b for 100 catches (to collect) on the fourth or 5th try. Working on 7b endurance has really helped my control with 7b.

Didn't sleep well last night, and didn't really feel well today. Juggle anyway, why not?

I have been working on overheads a lot lately, and tried 5b overheads today. Some good runs, around 11 catches (I'll call that a PR and log in records).

After juggling a lot of 7b cascade the last two days, my arms were tired. After a few runs of 7b cascade I rage quit and threw the balls like an angry child. Probably should have skipped 7b. all together. Need more optimal training structure.

Tried to get a 7 ball PR, failed @ 180ish. Some runs felt super solid though. Thinking about going back to russian style balls for endurance.

Did a 5 club drill where I started out by throwing one triple and then continuing in doubles. When doing this drill it is necessary to catch the first club before letting go of the fifth club.

About general physical condition:

Haven't been feeling well. Doing lots of juggling keeps me in really great shape. Since November 23rd, I have had swelling in my throat and fatigue. Feeling so bad, on Monday morning (November 28) I called the doctor's office, and scheduled an appointment for Tuesday at 3PM (November 29).

I haven't seen a doctor in many years, so I had to establish a relationship with a new doctor. He listened to my concerns and a short story about my recent dental work. After looking at my throat, he concluded it was likely a minor viral infection. If symptoms worsen, he said I should call him for an antibiotic.

I paid $174 cash to settle the entire bill, no insurance was used. My billing code was, "new patient III."

Feeling better today, I did a light juggling session.

About today's juggling:

Have not juggled since the 23rd.

Everything felt better than I remembered. Jumprope was perfect.
My 3 ball routine felt great.
Ran my 5b routine drop free on the first try.
I ran 7b. for about 60 catches on my fourth attempt.
Some 4c fountain.

3 ball routine:

  • Mill's Mess
  • Fake Machine
  • 1-up 360
  • Overheads
  • One handed reverse cascade

    5 ball routine:
  • (6x,4)*
  • 1-up 4-up
  • Multiplex trick, don't have siteswap. Similar to a Gattoplex.
  • Half-Shower
  • 3-up 360

Trained harder than I have since the surgery, and it felt really good.

Because of difficulty eating (after dental surgery), I have lost several pounds (192-->185). I feel faster and more agile. I have lost strength, but that's not really important in juggling. I have lost some endurance.

Ran 7b for 100+ to a clean finish. Ran 5b for 100+ to a clean finish.

Total practice time: 60 minutes
