torches, 50 minutes

Fire juggling in the dark (or at least dusk)

Started a few minutes before sunset. Not that I could see it since it was cloudy but I know what time the sun was supposed to set today. Didn't continue until it was pitch dark outside, but it sure felt dark when the torches were lit! (It also looks pretty dark from inside my apartment now...)

Pretty much the same things as earlier today.

Juggled the torches without fire between each time I lit them, to let them cool down a bit and to get more confident with some of the moves I wanted to do. Also did some practice of things I have no plans to do with fire, like 441 on singles, just to get some extra practice of that pattern.

Last time I lit the torches it was dark enough for me to mostly see the fire (and not that much of the handles) even when I threw doubles and watched them against the sky (that was still significantly lighter than the surrounding trees and buildings).

Dips didn't work in the dark, the rest was doable but I dropped many times.

Figured out why I found slow cascade more difficult than 423 earlier today... When I do slow cascade with clubs I usually let the club down holding it almost straight down as soon as I have caught it, and keep it there until it's time to throw it. Well, guess what? Not a good idea with torches!

Total practice time: 50 minutes

Location: Ute på gården
