5 balls, #chartread, 150 minutes

5b endure - 150 min.   351 (@ 30'), 345 (@ 1h 25'), 513 (@ 2h !?), 447, 377, 531, 465 throws runs longer than 320 th.   [ dailyLongestRun5b: 531 ] <-- reading that chart: It's difficult to read for some variables like  a) different stint durations done 5b enduring, for  b) different form on days and for  c) different approaches: partly doing whole stints on finding "easiest" pattern only or mainly (15 Nov ff.),  d) how hard it was to get very long or even only minimum >320 runs, how many hard savings were in those runs (which i know have gotten less lately), and  e) indoor-outdoor ratio like if or not did 7b and or 5b heavy balls before. - Yet, I can say or actually see, that runs >600 have recently gotten more. Can see that from Oct 'til mid Nov improvement was much more palpable, and can remember getting PRs was partly also due to seeing that faster improvement and knowing that last PRs were recent (enthusiasm then still un-used-up so to say); so, I seem to indeed have met a hurdle, it not being obvious to go on improving to >1,000 catches. Now, looking at minimum daily longest runs, and looking at average (without high & low peaks) and at > 600 c runs, I also find less shorter daily longest runs (while many of these were due to "easiest" mode, though). When I think of any peaks, low and high, and their corresponding lines blanked and the chartlines connected there, my average seems to have risen too, .. but shows more spread recently compared to mid Nov 'til mid Jan. - All in all, the chart seems to confirm what i feel getting longer runs easier and with somewhat lower pattern, since having focussed on easy pattern a lot. And confirms my confidence to get over 1,000 (hopefully towards 1,200-1,300) anytime except on bad days, or at least necessarily soon or late, and be it by mere statistical odds. I also feel, that i can still improve that "easiest"-mode and stableness of the easy pattern a lot until it really feels 'boring' ( i don't mean that like it sounds :o) ), until it's 'like 3b only' and really as familiar as walking without need to think about steps to take and as naturally controlled as walking left, right, slower, faster.

Total practice time: 150 minutes

Austin - Good dedication; not every practices for 3 hours most days! But I notice that you only ever seem to work on 5 ball endurance and 7 balls. I find that by far the fastest way to improve your 5b is to work on pattenrs/tricks like the halfshower, 645, 744, (6x,4) etc.
7b_wizard - "dedication" - yeh .. want 7b 'playful' soon or late whatever it takes.
7b_wizard - "5b, 7b only" - 5b is 'til >1,000, then usual indoor-winter with lotsa work on tricks and s'swaps. Actually doing it as a "good-for" 7b originally, just like flashing 9b in summer.
7b_wizard - "[your suggestions]" - like 645 (5b-34567 even more), not the others (for asynch or too many 4-s). Did 645 outdoors, awkward under ceiling.
7b_wizard - * [correct:] not like (6x,4)* for being synch [not "asynch"] *
Austin - Yes. But I find that the only way I can make good progress is by constantly varying what I work on; like I tried 75661,67561,88441,855 and more today and felt lots of progress.
7b_wizard - You're absolutely right. But I have varied 5b in lots of ways and for me, right now at my present stage, getting over 1,000 is just a question of time and practising stable and easy pattern. It's, for the moment, really a matter of "cascading" well, I believe and feel.
7b_wizard - Also, I'm not so familiar with synch, with fountains, and have only lately gotten into siteswapping with 5b (72615 and 645 that is, not counting occasional multiplexing), so getting into these is more of a challenge than getting those 100-150 catches more of pure cascade.
7b_wizard - But your proposition (thx! btw) got me thinking to surely apply for 6b s'swaps containing lotsa 7-s, which i haven't tried yet, as good for my 7b in outdoor sessions.
7b_wizard - * 72615 7772615
Austin - 77772 and 774 and 777771 etc are good. But my point is that working on new and different things like fountains and synch stuff will REALLY help with your progress.
Austin - It doesn't have to directly be an exercise for 5b/7b to help cosiderably with those patterns and your general skill.
7b_wizard - Very true, again. I actually have layed off my eschew of synch and fountains last year casually trying some out and found it fun! (other than expected). I discovered the wimpy suit me and did some 4-s stuff and be it with two balls (2b-01414 lol) and 3b-441 .. [ff]
7b_wizard - .. and found a sort of windmill-fountain pointing to same side with both hands (one hd inside, other hd outside throws). And I do want to work on such things, but have this fix idea of getting 5b 1,000 c first.
7b_wizard - btw there's a word for it: synergy. Same goes for e.. bodythrows coming in very very handy for saving and a greater range / scope of action .. even if you don't need them, they give you the feel of props being in greater reach. But they're good for easier savings and correcting skills..
7b_wizard - ° e.. = "e.g."
7b_wizard - i mean front stuff like claws, penguins, underarm throws, reachovers, x-hd .. they give more 'natural' saves on outbreakers when front juggling
Austin - Yup. Fair enough. I just thought it would be helpful to practice some tricks etc before moving on to endurance.
Austin - Plus being good at corrections isn't necessarily a good thing; a tidy pattern is more important.
7b_wizard - True again! I'm actually really struggling with tidyness of my patterns. Am not stable snapped in most the time. Been like that forever, but - at it's best - I see it as 'playful' vivid 'style' (if not it's maybe in fact just "flawful" juggling .. time will tell).
7b_wizard - Then again, also dead solid and tidy only, then failing at just minor flaws can also not be 'it' .. guess both ways are valid approaches, maybe a question of taste, schools, or merely people being different..
7b_wizard - And that circle closes on 5b endurance with wanting very long runs in fact forces me to get long stable phases. There seems to be no way of getting >1,000 with just keeping the pattern up somehow, but indeed finding into some 'everlasting' pattern is needed.
